Audio-Technica, a renowned brand in the audio world, began its journey in 1962 as a designer and manufacturer of high-end phonograph cartridges. The company's innovative Dual Moving Magnet stereo cartridge, with its outstanding channel separation, extended frequency response, and superb tracking, made a significant impact on the industry.

Recognizing the critical role a cartridge plays in reproducing high-fidelity audio from vinyl, Audio-Technica has designed the AT-LP7 turntable around their VM cartridge line, incorporating the finest materials and structures to support the cartridge's performance. The AT-LP7 comes equipped with a VM520EB Dual Moving Magnet Cartridge, which features a 10 g AT-HS10 head shell and a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical bonded stylus.

The versatility of the AT-LP7 is further enhanced by the ability to replace the stylus with any of the six other styli available in the VM line, allowing users to easily upgrade their setup without the need to purchase a whole new cartridge. The J-shaped tone arm takes its inspiration from the classic A-T models of the 1960s and '70s, featuring a metallic gimbal suspension system and precision bearings to mitigate tracking errors. The adjustable counterweight and anti-skate control ensure optimal tracking performance.

The turntable chassis is constructed of 40 mm-thick MDF (medium density fiberboard), an excellent anti-vibration damping material that limits low-frequency acoustical feedback. The anti-resonance platter, made of 20 mm-thick polyoxymethylene, is driven by a sensor-monitored motor that ensures a continuously accurate platter rotation speed of 33-1/3 or 45 RPM.

The AT-LP7 also includes a built-in switchable phono/line preamp, allowing for connection to components with or without a dedicated phono input. The selector switch allows users to designate operation with a moving magnet or moving coil cartridge, further enhancing the versatility of the turntable.

The fully manual, belt-drive operation of the AT-LP7, combined with its speed-sensor system to maintain accurate platter rotation speed, ensures a high-quality listening experience for vinyl enthusiasts. The attention to detail and the incorporation of the finest materials and structures make the AT-LP7 a standout in the world of turntables, delivering exceptional performance and a seamless integration with the VM cartridge line.
